The Senior Volunteer Program assists the Department by providing enhanced public service to the community while offering opportunities for senior citizens to make a definitive contribution toward protecting California's wildlife resources.

Departmental Authority

The SVP is an official Departmental program administered in cooperation with the county and regional retired senior programs.

Government Code Section 3110 authorizes the Department to provide non-compensated work opportunities to individuals or groups who wish to volunteer their services.
